Bokstad is built in Gothenburg, by a small limited company for other small limited companies.

Why Bokstad exists

We run a limited company ourselves and have used the accounting products on the market. All of them stop just short of the finish line: you pay for the software all year, and when the year has to be closed you pay again for the year-end close and the annual report, or hire someone to do it.

Bokstad takes the books all the way. Bookkeeping, VAT, year-end close, the annual report to Bolagsverket and the tax return to Skatteverket are included in one price, year after year. That is the whole idea.

Who builds it

Bokstad is developed by Olle Ljung, founder of AB Buddleja, together with AI tools that help with code, copy and bookkeeping suggestions. We are a small company seated in Gothenburg, and we write our own software.

How we work

We do not promise more than we have built. What the front page lists is what will be included at launch, not what exists today, and the price is the one we are aiming for.

Bank connections run through open-banking.io and Enable Banking, a registered account information service provider under PSD2. We never see your bank credentials, and fetching can be switched off. Data is stored within the EU/EEA.
